This corporation, founded in July 2006 by an alliance between ENARSA and the Government of the province of Chubut, of which ENARSA holds 80%, has the purpose to carry out the design, construction, implementation, operation, development and maintenance of high-power eolic plants to supply the national network, focused on the country’s eolic industry.
Vientos de la Patagonia I S.A. aims not only to initiate the production of weight eolic energy, but also to stimulate the manufacturing, installation and local operation of generators.
With an expected power in the range of 50-100 MW for a first park and wind turbines manufactured with a high percentage of national production, it contributes to the National Strategic Plan of Eolic Energy in order to encourage the use of clean, renewable and non-polluting energies.
Vientos de la Patagonia I S.A., intends to contribute to the growth of eolic energy in Argentina, focusing on the development of associated local industries. Its first eolic park, El Tordillo project, located 40 kilometers to the west of Comodoro Rivadavia, in the province of Chubut, was built with the two first high power turbines (1.5 MW) manufactured domestically.
